There is already a massive planning application in for the redevelopement of the Stratford Centre. It is out for consultation at the moment. Part of it is a 33 story tower.

This is their mid range 'Cobra' park. Look on this link here and you'll find the range up to the 'Vertigo' which is 300 metres plus - ie as big or bigger than the shard.
